Waterford is situated along a beautiful coastline that has many amazing places to visit. Some of these include Dunmore East which is a charming fishing port and seaside resort set into rugged coastline at the mouth of Waterford estuary. It's an unspoiled getaway full of silent coves, clean beaches and fine restaurants. The popular annual Guinness Bluegrass Music Festival takes place here every August.

With 5km of sandy beaches, Tramore is a popular family friendly resort, with activities from surfing, sailing and kayaking to cliff walking and golf.

There are giant waterslides and indoor swimming pool at Splashworld and an Amusement Park opposite the promenade. The 18-hole Tramore Golf Club is located outside the town.

Waterford has a long theatrical and musical tradition, which centers on the historic Theatre Royal, which hosts each year. The 2010 festival will run from the 4th – 12th November 2010.

Garter Lane Arts Centre, has both theatre and gallery spaces which host visiting groups and arts exhibitions. It is home to the Red Kettle Theatre Company.

Waterford's internationally renowned SPRAOI festival takes place each August bank holiday weekend. The IMAGINE Arts Festival is held on the October holiday weekend, followed by the Waterford Film Festival in early November.
